Ouch. It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for.
Both hailing form the north of the Netherlands Franke and Jabe found each other and their passion for old style bluegrass in the summer of 2013 right in the epicenter of the low lands. Where Franke recently exchanged his flying V for an upright bass, Jabe traded his electric bass for a banjo and became an apprentice of Bart van Strien, which you might know from the Bluegrass Boogiemen. They joined forces with mandolin maestro Maurits in 2014, a certified warhorse, playing majestic melodies since the old days with Jesus Evil Highway and still is, and The Old Ditch Riverhoppers were a fact! After playing shows for a year and recording two albums they ran into Martijn during the summer of 2015. Guitar player by heart, he is keeping the rhythm like a mineworker in Kentucky and taking this now fully fledged bluegrass quartet to a whole new level.
The Old Ditch Riverhoppers play a blend of old time bluegrass mixed with just a hint of blues, bringing tunes ranging from the Stanley Brothers and Townes von Zandt till Doc Watson and Reno & Smiley. Expect an energetic show from this foursome, with a broad variety of old and new bluegrass classics!
